1 minute Bible Verse a Day - Your daily espresso with God

After a long night rest, we all wish to wake up to a reality of peace and serenity. As a result of this, most people don’t joke with espresso, especially in the early hours of the morning. How beautiful, romantic and joy inducing would it be to be served a freshly hot whipped espresso in bed, yummy right? Just as our flesh craves for pleasure in edible things such as coffee, so does our spirit long for fellowship with God. Just as our appetite needs infilling, so does our relationship with God. Don’t we all ignore this urge to tarry in the presence of God? But a one-minute Bible verse a day is exactly the right espresso you need for a start.

The Bible, which is our guide book is filled with a lot of truth and principles that have been tested and proven to be right with time over many generations. One-minute Bible verse a day brings us closer to the God, to our origin and the truth upon which our faith is built on. Considering the fact that there is a total of twenty-four hours in a day, reading a Bible verse for a minute should be relatively easy. There was a time I struggled with keeping up with talking to God. Sometimes I constantly forget to pray or study the word. Over the time, I realized that a minute of prayer won’t hurt neither would reading a verse. As I write this, I have come to the conclusion that the concept of this one-minute with God is just so similar to our daily espresso intake that many of us cannot do without.

Why do we take espressos? Studies have shown that espressos contain antioxidants that boost the immune system. The same is true for our one-minute espresso with God; it prepares us for the day ahead, builds our expectation for any eventuality that may occur in the day, and open up our minds to positivity. A daily dose won’t hurt us, it would rather make us so at the end of the day we do not run with uncertainty, or fight as one that beats the air (1 Corinthians 9:26-27).
Today's Prayer
Abba Father, I praise you for your incomparable power and your incomprehensible glory. As I begin this new year, I know that my future rests in your will, your grace, and your salvation. Please go with me as I journey toward this future. Please be glorified in the way I live my life today, this year, and for as long as you give me earthly life. In Jesus' name. Amen.
